Just finished loading in the lumber pack. It took us pretty much all day to load up the pick up at the bottom of the drive way and drive it all up to the side of the house and unload it inside - over and over and over ..... Whew!

Finished the day with a team meeting to divide and conquer tomorrow!

Friday we had our footing inspection by the City where the dimensions of the footings and the rebar schedule (size of rebar and spacing) was checked. Passed with colors! Very nice!

We have added voluntary interior shear walls to the project to further beef up the house's potential for taking on large seismic loads. These walls have new strip footings with what one would call "key" footings at the ends of them that are wide and deep (5'x30"x30") that "lock" the ends of the walls down to prevent the exterior walls from moving around.

We have a 12 cubic yard pour set up for Tuesday!

The last reliable numbers I heard where that we had a 37% chance of the "Big One" hitting in the next 50 years. I am no statistician nor that mathamatically inclined - I interpret these numbers as about a 1 in 3 chance.

Absolutely! This system is perfect for that kind of situation. It is the only viable option that I have seen to replacing the whole foundation with a totally new concrete foundation and runs about half the price!

Call me at 503.997.6129 to set up an appointment - I can walk you through the job we are on now and then put a proposal together for your foundation.

Best,

What exactly is this SR wall system? Can it be used for a "rotten" concrete foundation?

I thought I heard Channel 2 anchor Steve Dunn say we had a 60% chance of a "Big One,"--not a 10-15% figure. I believe I saw and heard this information about a year ago on a KOIN special segment.

I am not sure to what you are referring to here. Our system is something that has been developed by the engineers at Simpson (the company that produces all the hardware we install) as well as having it specifically called out by our structural engineer - Adam Rolin of AG Rolin Consulting.
