Do-It-Yourself Retrofits

Learn first hand what it takes to safely and accurately perform a seismic upgrade. Hold a class in your home and invite your friends and peers.

Group classes are limited to six or eight individuals. All class hosts get their home retrofitted by choosing to use their home as the class demonstration.

Basic Group Classes

Find out which tools are needed for a basic retrofit and how to use them properly. Classes cover types of retrofits, materials and engineering requirements. The host property receives a home retrofit as part of the class. Maximum eight students.

Host: $500-$600, includes basic home retrofit, materials list and engineering requirements
Students: $200 each (other than host)

Premium Group Classes

Get more detailed training on the ins and outs of retrofitting. This class devotes more time to materials and engineering requirements and includes a personalized materials list for each participant. Maximum six students.

Host: $500-$600, includes home retrofit, materials list and engineering requirements
Student: $600 each, includes a personalized home visit, home retrofit materials list and engineering requirements per student

Individual Classes

Get one-on-one instruction on what’s needed to retrofit your home or commercial building. This class includes a personalized materials list and engineering requirements for your property. You’ll learn the specific details you need to know to properly perform a retrofit.
